Let me tell you what gets under my skin more than anything else:
When I walk into a store and see a bottle of lotion on the shelf and the front label promotes “how natural it is” and I turn the bottle around to read the label and find the first 5 ingredients to be high on the list of ingredients that can give me a rash, or knowingly lead to any number of given illnesses; then the last 5 ingredients on the list include all the wonderful, therapeutic carrier and/or essential oils that are in the product.
When I visit a company’s website that manufactures texture altering hair products and their advertisement flashing all over the site boasts it’s use of “certified organic ingredients”.
That gets deep under my skin…literally if I allow it to.

The world of natural and organic products is one that can be very difficult to navigate. Every day consumers are bombarded to “Buy natural” or Buy organic”. You’re surrounded by messages that natural and organic living is a healthier way of life. Everywhere you turn, companies are labeling their products and marketing with the words “natural” and “organic. When companies use these words are their products truly healthier and safer for your lifestyle, or are they capitalizing on a trend or fad until the next one comes along to increase their profit margin.

My passion has been and continues to be: to increase your knowledge so that you are choosing your personal care products consciously.
What does it mean to YOU, the consumer, for a product to be natural or organic? Do you believe that the personal care products you buy can be 100% natural? Have you developed this concept from marketing and advertising, or from your own personal research and education? Are you reading your labels and do you know what to look for?

Being in the body products industry and having skin sensitivity I definitely know what to look for. It is unfortunate that companies big and small pass off their products as “all natural”, “organic” etc and the majority of the products and cannot even pronounce. They continue to insult my intelligence by putting the key words like shea butter, jojoba butter and coconut oil at the end of the ingredients line. Anyone I come in contact with whether a potential customer or not, I let them know, these companies are poisoning your skin for the long haul and they need to be more vigilant as to what they put on their bodies.
